Job Posting – Teaching Assistant
Winter Term 2013 (January-April)
The Centre for Jewish Studies seeks two teaching assistants for the following course:
CJS201H1S Introduction to Jewish Culture
This is a general introduction to the history, literatures and cultures of the Jewish people from antiquity to contemporary times. It will offer a multi-disciplinary approach and a multi-methodological approach to Jewish studies, with a special emphasis on Jewish culture and Jewish secularism.
Qualifications
Applicants should have at least an MA in Religion or History or English or Comparative Literature, preferably with a concentration in Jewish Studies.First consideration will be given to full-time graduate students at the University of Toronto.
Duties
- Marking 2 term assignments
Hours of work: 65 hours
Estimated Course Enrolment:75 students
Rate of Pay: SGS I/II - $41.23/hour
Final availability of the position is contingent upon enrolment, budgetary consideration and the determination of appointments as governed by the collective agreement.

TAs will only be assigned to courses in fields in which they are or should be qualified to assist.
