In this lecture, Professor Piet Van Boxel will compare Latin and Hebrew expurgation and censorship in sixteenth-century Italy and Spain and will explore the inefficiency of ecclesiastical censorship and the various ways in which Jews and Protestants were able to protect their heritage.
